Cockroaches were around 150 million years before the dinosaurs. There’re the survivors of nukes. Dr. Craig Hovey, author of The Way of the Cockroach, in a very beautiful fable describes 10 rules of survival that he learnt from the cockroaches. One of the rules is “What doesn’t exterminate you only makes you stronger.” Failures, rejections, setbacks and obstacles are the nature’s mechanism to train our mental and emotional muscles to take up bigger challenges in life.
You’ll never see an Olympian who always won in his sporting career……..
You’ll never see an investor who always reaped profits on his ventures……………
You’ll never see a stockbroker who always made money……………
You’ll never see a salesman who always sold on every sales call…………
You’ll never see a baby who started running the moment he stood on his feet………
You’ll never see a scientist who always invented and discovered without failure……….much quoted example of Edison who failed 9999 times before inventing incandescent bulb.
Failure and falls and frustrations are inevitable part of life. Always remember the rule of cockroach that what doesn’t exterminate you only makes you stronger.
“The greatest danger for most of us is not that we aim high and miss it, but rather that we aim low and reach it.” MICHELANGELO
So next time when you get rejection, you should get stronger and more aggressive.
